A quest for the ultimate, beautiful, meaningful picture

A little bit about this blog and me

Amateur photographer since four decades. European male with a family life and more (in fact) or less (formally) work, but that’s not the point here. After all these years, I’m still trying to find out how to make good pictures. Sometimes I’m in a mood to share my thoughts about that, at other times in a mood to share my photos, or updates about the software and hardware I use. And sometimes I share pictures, websites or information about exhibitions from others, as long as it is related to meaning and beauty in photography.

The blog’s name is a tribute to my first digital SLR camera, a Minolta Dynax D7; ‘DW’ are my initials.

At this time, my main photo gear is: Sony A77, Sony 2.8/16-50, Sigma 2.8/70-200, Tamron 2.0/60 macro. But sometimes I take pictures with my iPhone–the message in the picture is what counts, not the technical perfection.

  1. I totally understand…I’m my worst critic.
